Di held a number of high-profile roles in the Macarthur area community. She was a former Camden councillor. Camden State Labor MP Geoff Corrigan who gave the eulogy spoke of her wamth, her care of other people and their needs.

He was proud to have been considered by her as a very close friend of 20 years. He recalled the time he spent on Camden Council with Di as "been one of the best councils that I was involved with.”

Di Missingham was appointed manager of the Macarthur Chronicle. She spent nine years building relationships in the community and helped lay the foundations for the newspaper’s ongoing success.

Di Missingham worked as centre manager at Marketfair shopping centre, Campbelltown, in promotions at Western Suburbs Magpies and Oran Park, and more recently as Lifeline Macarthur’s sponsorship manager.

``Like many people in our community, Wests Tigers were sad to hear of the passing of Di,’’ Tigers media officer Wayne Cousins said. ``She was a wonderful lady with a heart of gold.’’

The Lifeline family is still coming to terms with her loss.

``It is the unique differences and opportunities that she brought to Lifeline Macarthur, which made her without equal as the fundraising manager of our organisation,’’ CEO Peter Mihajlovic said.

"... it has been a privilege knowing you and I’m sure going to miss the cheeky phone calls. Thinking of you will always put a smile on my face! Thank you for being you!

"Di, I was shocked and saddened to read of such a loss to our community.  You were a rock and it hits hard when someone as spirited and strong as you passes. During my time volunteering at Lifeline I found you to be fun and straight down the line, a real confidence booster for someone who was out of the workforce for so long.  You will be missed. My thoughts to Di’s family and Lifeline friends. Di was a rock to many people. I think you lived life to the fullest with its ups and downs. You were truly an inspiration. Bernadette.xoxoxo

" ... What can we say except how sad we feel in our hearts, Di was inspiration to us all. Nothing a problem just got on with whatever was asked of her. We loved her sense of humor & of course her quick wit. Thank you God for giving us the chance to meet & work alongside such a wonderful woman.

"... I still cannot believe my dear friend is gone.  Di was my inspiration, she made things happen, often in her own unique way, once she had a vision she was unstopable. Our paths crossed so many times, first when she worked at Tri City Trucks in the 70’s, then again at Tegels, for many years in newspapers and most recently Lifeline.  Di has helped so many people she had a heart of gold I along with many will miss her so much.
My love and condolences to all her family.

Thinking of you Simone - it was a sad day for heaing of your mother’s sudden passing. I remember her with affection and admiration - her cheerfulness and her ability to
“soldier on” when faced with difficulties, the like of which, I personally, have not had to face. Inspiring. A great human being - a fine lady and held in high esteem by all those who worked with her - to put it simply Simone, I liked your mum! Thinking of you all, Rosalie Dawne

Order of Service

Opening Hymn:    Amazing Grace    Hymn No. 437

Opening Prayer:    Lord, hear our prayers.
By raising your Son from the dead, you have given us faith.
Strengthen our hope that Diane our sister, will share in his Resurrection.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever

All    Amen

First Reading     read by Annette Warren    from the book of Wisdom

The souls of the virtuous are in the hands of God, no torment shall ever touch them.  In the eyes of the unwise, they did appear to die, their going looked like a disaster, their leaving us like annihilation; but they are in peace.  If they experience punishment as men see it, their hope was rich with immortality; slight was their affliction, great will their blessing be.

God has put them to the test and proved them worthy to be with him; He has tested them like gold in a furnace, and accepted them as a holocaust.  They who trust in him will understand the truth; those who are faithful will live with him in Love; for grace and mercy await those he has chosen.
This is the word of the Lord

All    Thanks be to God

Psalm Response:    The Lord is my Shepherd the Living    Hymn No. 473

Second Reading: read by Wendy Underwood
A reading from the first letter of St Paul to the Corinthians

Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of all who have fallen asleep.  Death came through one man and in the same way the resurrection of the dead has come through one man.

Just as all men die in Adam, so all men will be brought to life in Christ; but all of them in their proper order:  Christ as the first-fruits and then, after the coming of Christ, those who belong to him.   This is the word of the Lord

All    Thanks be to God

Gospel Acclamation:
Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ, Kind of Endless Glory
This is the will of my Father, says the Lord,
All who believe in the Son will have eternal life
And I will raise them to life on the last day.
Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ, Kind of Endless Glory

Gospel    a reading from the holy Gospel according to John 14:1-6

Jesus said to his disciples:  Do not let your hearts be troubled.  Trust in God still, and trust in me.  There are many rooms in my Father's house; if there were not, I should have told you.  I am going now to prepare a place for you, and after I have gone and prepared you a place, I shall return to take you with me; so that where I am you may be too.

You know the way to the place where I am going.  Thomas said, "Lord, we do not know where you are going, so how can we know the way?"   Jesus said "I am the Way, the truth and the Life.  No one can come to the Father except through me.
